Discover face fraud

Proceed to Security Insights to discover potential synthetic identity fraud—the type of fraud when a person creates multiple fake accounts by manipulating personal data on the documents while reusing their real face.

Upon completing flagged identity checks, Mosaic may report a repeated face event. Depending on your configuration, the platform can either block the attempt immediately or generate a Security Insight for later review.

For each insight, you can see all verifications attempted by this person within your tenant, with their selfie, document images, and verification result for each verification. From there, you can circle back to the individual verification reports for inspection.

Statuses such as "under investigation", "resolved", and "dismissed" help the analytics team plan the review procedures and keep track of pending tasks.

Note

Selfies flagged as fraudulent are stored in a face blocklist that Mosaic uses to compare each new verification attempt. App admins can access the blocklist for fraud investigations, manual interventions, and oversight corrections. For more details, see our Block fraudsters page.

Together with repeated profile, which detects suspicious reuse of identity details across different faces, Mosaic provides a broader defense against cross-session fraud.
